There is good to very good but not truly excellent complexity to the nose that has gone fully secondary in character, indeed to the point that there are notes of sous-bois present on the brioche, apricot preserve and ever-so-slightly oaky aromas. There is good detail and intensity to the still powerful and focused flavors that possess solid, if not exceptional, size and weight before culminating in a balanced and lingering finish. This is certainly a Lafon Montrachet of very good quality but it isn't at the level of rivaling the heights that this wine routinely achieves. Tasted only once in recent years.
